Already the country is overwhelmed by our players performance at Tokyo Olympic games 2020. With Neeraj Chopra grabbing a Gold for India, then there was Mirabai Chanu who led us a Silver medal. So we should not also forget the amazing victory of Men’s Hockey Team for getting us a bronze after a long wait of 41 yrs. Moreover, we do have a long list of our players who made us proud during 20th Olympic event at Tokyo. But, here is not the end, as our achiever series has more to add to it. Thus with the start of the Tokyo Paralympics 2021, our quest for the medals has started.
Tokyo Paralympics India Medals 2021
This Summer Paralympics, which started from 24th Aug and will last till Sept 5 2021. Thus it is being also known as the 16th/ XVIth Paralympic event. With a total of 163 nations participating here, and 539 events will be there along with 22 games in total. Indeed it is a great platform for the disabled athletes who have a lot of courage to perform, despite their physical barriers. So, now we will check on to our Indian Stars who have made their mark in the Tokyo Paralympics Games 2021. And along with this our current rank at Paralympics event.
XVIth Tokyo Paralympics 2020:
This year, in the 2021 Paralympics, 54 athletes will be representing India at Tokyo in 9 international sports. They will thus be governed by the International Paralympics Committee. Till now, as on 31st August 2021 we have bagged a total of SEVEN (7) medals and currently we are holding 28th rank at the same. However, there are hopes of increasing the tally as the game ends on 5th Sept 2021.

Gold Medals India For Tokyo Paralympics 2021
- AVANI LEKHARA :
The Paralympic star who gave her first Gold Medal at the age of just 19 yrs in shooting event. However, until now she has got Silver and Bronze in world Championship or other events. However this is the first time she made all of us go awe as she bought India her 1st Gold Medal at Tokyo Paralympics 2020. Moreover, she didn’t stopped there, as she set a new record for the 249.6 points which is itself a record. With this now she becomes the 4th Indian Gold winner at the Paralympics event.
- SUMIT ANTIL:
Our 2nd gold in the Javelin throw was bagged by 23 yr old Sumit Antil, who orignates from Sonipat. Moreover he too break his old attempts of 62.88 m to now 68.55 m in this event. Thus defeating the Australian player Michael Burian and the Sri Lankan player Dulan Kodithuwakku.
Tokyo Paralympics 2021 Silver Medals India
- YOGESH KATHUNIA:
With the 44.38 m distance of the Discus Throw in the final round, Indian Player Yogesh Kathunia got the Silver medal. He is just 24 yrs old when he made this great feat after he witnessed the paralysis attack at the age of 8. However, now he showed us, nothing is unachievable, if you are really determined. Hat’s off to him for this incredible victory.
- BHAVINABEN PATEL:
Loosing to China’s Ying Jhou, our Bhavinaben Patel became the only Indian Women to get the Silver Medal at the Table Tennis event during Tokyo Paralympics 2020. A wonderful history has been marked by her.
- DEVENDRA JHAJHARIA:
He has been a 2 time Gold medalists and this time has to settle for Silver at Tokyo Paralympics 2020. After setting records at the earlier events in 2004 and 2016 games. The Javelin thrower managed to throw 64.35 m. However he lost to the Sri Lankan player.
- NISHAD KUMAR:
Coming from Himachal Pradesh, Nishad Kumar bagged Silver at the Tokyo 2020 event. He is just 21 yr old, when he got Silver 2.06 m for the High Jump.

- SUNDAR SINGH GURJAR:
Finishing the Javelin Throw with his best 64.01 m throw, he bagged the Bronze medal in his kit at the Tokyo event 2020. Though he has earlier bagged silver in the Jakarta games as well.
